The local South West Breeders play an important role in the Bunbury Turf Club by sponsoring the South West Breeders Patron's Plate, in conjunction with BTC Patron, Mrs Helen Court.

The $80,000 Patron's Plate is one of the richest provincial 3 year old races in Australia.
