Photo finish looming in BTC Trainer and Apprentice Premierships

Today’s 2017/18 season finale raceday provides an opportunity for exciting finishes to the respective Chaff City-Trainer Premiership and Horseland Bunbury-Apprentice Premiership.

With rising star local mare Snow Blossom enjoying an unassailable lead in the Harradine & Associates-Horse of the Year Premiership, and the one and only William Pike has again dominated the Medic Aid WA-Jockey Premiership.

However, things are not so clear cut in the Trainer and Apprentice Premierships with today’s results having the potential to make things very interesting.

The combination of Daniel and Ben Pearce are an outside chance of knocking off Grant and Alana Williams in the Chaff City-Trainer Premiership. The Pearce Brothers have saddled up 10 winners this season, two behind Team Williams, and need three of their five runners this afternoon to salute to pinch an unlikely victory,

The Horseland Bunbury-Apprentice Premiership is set to go down to the wire with Mollie Clark (pictured) on four wins leading Brodie Kirby, Maddison Brown and Clint Johnston-Porter on countback, however, both Andrew Castle and Randy Tan have enough opportunities to win the title on the final day of racing.

Andrew Castle, currently on three wins, only has to boot home one of his six rides to win the title on countback, while Randy Tan needs to salute aboard three of his four mounts to claim his third consecutive Horseland Bunbury-Apprentice Premiership.
