Race 1 – 1:00PM MOSHI MOSHI MARKETING MAIDEN (2200 METRES)

Found it hard to split the top three selections, but ended up siding with CREZEE on top. Made a mid-race move last start and didn’t lay down when challenged by Conquered Zone in the straight, so the effort was pretty decent. Has that 2000m run under his belt now and should take some beating. SHOWADDYWADDY comes through the same races as Crezee, but is yet to beat him home. With a patient ride she can work home hard late. Was keen on ARCADIA KING last start, but he was only plain. May just be a stayer though, so expecting some improvement rising to 2200m again, while ROYAL CHOISIR is next best.

Tips: 2-7-1-5
Suggested: 2. CREZEE win.

2. CREZEE
7. SHOWADDYWADDY
1. ARCADIA KING
5. ROYAL CHOISIR

Race 2 – 1:40PM CAPEL VALE WINERY MAIDEN (1675 METRES)

Pretty keen on GREAT WATERS to break through. After some handy trial results he was solid on debut, but improved significantly with the blinkers added second up, and gives the impression he’ll thrive rising to 1675m. May even land in the one-one from this draw and stands out as the horse to beat. Have tracked THE ROAN RANGER all prep and he was been quite competitive on most occasions. Pike going on is interesting and The Wizard should give this fellow every chance from the low draw. Blinkers going on could be the trick for RED HOT TIP, while MISTER KRUMPETS rounds out the top four.

Tips: 4-1-3-2
Suggested: 4. GREAT WATERS win.

4. GREAT WATERS
1. THE ROAN RANGER
3. RED HOT TIP
2. MISTER KRUMPETS

Race 3 – 2:20PM PHOENIX INSURANCE BROKERS MAIDEN (1200 METRES)

It’s been a huge week for horses carrying the Pike and Grey Shamrock colours, and it looks set to continue with LORD LONSDALE. Was quite good in a solid form race on debut and was subsequently given a let up, but he looked in really good order when leading and winning a Lark Hill 24/02 trial. Leads, or lands outside leader, and should be very hard to beat. RUM RAKER hasn’t done a lot wrong, but Troy Turner hopping off to ride Lord Lonsdale is a good lead. Still, Rum Raker looks suited back to 1200m and must rate highly. Expecting both SILENT ACT and SITDOWN BE HUMBLE to both run well fresh.

Tips: 2-9-4-1
Suggested: 2. RUM RAKER each way.

2. RUM RAKER
9. SILENT ACT
4. SITDOWN BE HUMBLE
1. MY BLUEBOY

Race 4 – 2:55PM AUSMIC PEST CONTROL MAIDEN (1400 METRES)

Again found it difficult to separate the top three selections, but PULI should have a field position advantage and opted to head in that direction. Puli sat outside the in-form Sea Waif at Pinjarra last start and was out-bobbed on the line in a two-horse war, with 2.8L back to third highlighting the merit of the performance. Looks the likely leader in a race without a heap of pace and should control things from there. Have some time for RHYTHM STAR and CASA ROSADA and expecting both to come forward second up. They are both major players, while PASARAN worked home quite well late on debut.

Tips: 2-6-8-7
Suggested: 2. PULI win.

2. PULI
6. CASA ROSADA
8. MOVENZA
7. FUEL THE FRIAR

Race 5 – 3:25PM TABTOUCH – BETTER YOUR BET HANDICAP (1400 METRES)

Good clash this between promising 3YO fillies BABY BLUES and BERET, and going to roll with Baby Blues on top. Had some outstanding formlines when last in work and was just about the best performance of the day, when a massive second, against the pattern, first up at Ascot 26/02. Suited up in trip and with positive Paul Harvey tactics, should be really hard to beat. Beret elevated strongly second up over 1400m in her impressive maiden win, Pike going on didn’t hurt either. Baby Blues is a better horse than Native Chimes though. WINNIE’S WINE and PORPHYRIO round out the top four.

Tips: 3-8-6-1
Suggested: 3. BABY BLUES win.

3. BABY BLUES
8. WINNIE’S WINE
6. PORPHYRIO
1. SUNOL

Race 6 – 3:55PM WILLIAM BARRETT & SONS VASE (1400 METRES)

Likely leader THAT’S FUNNY AZ is going to take some beating. Appreciated a significant class drop this track/distance last start, leading and lifted over the line by an inspired William Pike. Still doing a bit wrong, so there’s upside there, and that win would’ve been a nice confidence booster also. SOWAR has been kept fresh since his even last start Ascot result and does look quite well placed in this assignment. With even luck from gate one, he can impact. EEYORE WAYZ knocked off the well-regarded Oristano last start and certainly has some ability, while CONVICTED MAN is racing consistently.

Tips: 3-5-2-1
Suggested: 3. THAT’S FUNNY AZ win.

3. THAT’S FUNNY AZ
5. SOWAR
2. EEYORE WAYZ
1. CONVICTED MAN

Race 7 – 4:25PM MGIB HANDICAP (1100 METRES)

No surprise to see SWIFT MIRAGE give this a nudge. Likes to get back and run on, so he’ll be spotting the main fancies a decent head start, but has put in some big efforts fresh in the past and does go well under Shaun McGruddy. If they are making ground on the day, Swift Mirage can launch into the finish of this. Blinkers off and Jason Whiting back on could be the trick for OLGA LOUISA. Has been a bit off this prep, but was really sharp in a mid-prep Lark Hill 24/02 trial and at her best would win. COCKYJOY and SOLARIZE fought out the finish last start, and both are genuine contenders again.

Tips: 5-1-2-3
Suggested: 5. SWIFT MIRAGE each way

5. SWIFT MIRAGE
1. OLGA LOUISA
2. COCKYJOY
3. SOLARIZE

Race 8 – 5:00PM FURPHY BUNBURY CUP (2000 METRES)

Thinking MACKENZIE BROOKE could knock off some more seasoned opposition and claim the 2020 Bunbury Cup. Was one of the leading staying fillies in WA during her 3YO season, and she’s come on nicely in 2019/20, capping off her development with a strong Albany Cup victory last start. Looks really well suited from this draw down on 54kg and has the Adam Durrant polish on also. Confident Mackenzie Brooke measures up. THE BIG SHOW looks primed to give this a big shake, SPIRITUAL WARRIOR is more than capable of challenging fresh, while ARCTIC STREAM will need to come from last to win.

Tips: 1-3-2-12
Suggested: 1. SPIRITUAL WARRIOR each way.

1. SPIRITUAL WARRIOR
3. ARCTIC STREAM
2. WRINKLY
12. SUPERIOR SMILE

Race 9 – 5:35PM AMELIA PARK HANDICAP (1675 METRES)

Good option for ZACKARIAH BEAU. Was keen on him last start and on a day where it was hard to make ground, he did well to run on into second. Has no gate speed, so maps worse than midfield, but with even luck on the turn and into the straight, he has the closing speed to charge home over the top. Like most of the Michael Lane stable, YOU AM I is absolutely humming at present. Almost pinched a Saturday win in town last start and simply must be respected. NOBLE KING is going really well for his new stable and could be the blowout, while I AM SPARTACUS is suited with a senior rider back on.

Tips: 8-1-9-3
Suggested: 8. ZACKARIAH BEAU each way.

8. ZACKARIAH BEAU
1. YOU AM I
9. NOBLE KING
3. I AM SPARTACUS
