Race 1 – 12:13PM CITY & REGIONAL FUELS MAIDEN HANDICAP (1410 METRES)

SILENT ACT has been knocking on the door all prep and has a terrific opportunity to break through in this. Comes through some decent form references and from gate one should get a lovely on-pace run in transit with a 4kg claimer on board. Just needs clear galloping room late to go close. BLONDE WARRIOR had no luck when racing first up for her new stable at Albany 2/04. Maps rearwards, but capable of running on into the finish. Didn’t mind the latest effort from GRANRANDELL and he looks suited rising to 1400m, while FANDAZZLE can rebound after having genuine excuses last start.

Tips: 5-8-4-6
Suggested: 5. SILENT ACT win.

5. SILENT ACT
8. BLONDE WARRIOR
4. GRANRANDELL
6. FANDAZZLE

Race 2 – 12:48PM CAPEL VALE WINERY MAIDEN HANDICAP (1108 METRES)

Happy to be siding with MONG KHON on debut. Should’ve finished closer at his Lark Hill 9/03 trial and then competed well in a solid form heat at Bunbury 23/03, leading them up and boxing on late. Mitch Pateman should send this fellow forward with the blinkers on and he looks placed to win. VERDIGRAS competed well enough at her Pinjarra debut and this assignment doesn’t look as deep. Maps nicely also. RUN D’AFFAIRE RUN returns from a break and is capable of challenging for a first four finish, while a fresh AWAY WE GO can impact also.

Tips: 4-9-5-7
Suggested: 4. MONG KHON win.

4. MONG KHON
9. VERDIGRAS
5. RUN D’AFFAIRE RUN
7. AWAY WE GO

Race 3 – 1:23PM TABTOUCH – BETTER YOUR BET MAIDEN HANDICAP (1108 METRES)

Really nice option for WHIM CREEK to record his maiden victory. Trialled well prior to his fast-finishing debut result at Kalgoorlie 28/03, when running some of the best closing splits on the day. Quality senior rider Shaun McGruddy should have him in a commanding position from the low draw and Whim Creek looks hard to beat. First-upper MIAMI MOON has been readied with two lead-up trials and maps to advantage from this alley. THE NATUROPATH can elevate second up with the blinkers on, while no surprise to see the likes of ICARIAN and SLY AS A FOX run big races at reasonable quotes.

Tips: 4-8-10-5
Suggested: 4. WHIM CREEK win.

4. WHIM CREEK
8. MIAMI MOON
10. THE NATUROPATH
5. ICARIAN
2. SLY AS A FOX

Race 4 – 2:00PM FURPHY – REFRESHING ALE HANDICAP (2019 METRES)

DOC FRIAR does appear to have these covered. Isn’t the easiest of rides, as she likes to get back and run on, so newcomer Victoria Corver will have to think her way through this one, but if kept out of trouble and allowed to work into the race at the right time, Doc Friar should be strongest late. Possible leader REDMILL is performing very consistently and he’s a bit stiff not to have already saluted the judge. Too honest to dismiss. I’M A LOVE MAN is a big class dropper and can bob up in a race like this, as can REGENT STAR who also comes back in grade and the blinkers have gone on.

Tips: 2-1-7-3
Suggested: 2. DOC FRIAR win.

2. DOC FRIAR
1. REDMILL
7. I’M A LOVE MAN
3. REGENT STAR

Race 5 – 2:40PM AMELIA PARK HANDICAP (1690 METRES)

OUR GIRL MARLI appears to have found the right race. Doesn’t have a flash winning record, but her effort in Graduation Handicap company in town last start suggests she’s in good order. With even luck from this low draw she’ll give this event a shake. FLYING TARGET is better than what she’s been producing and can return to form back on her home track. Possible leader QUEST TO VENUS boxed on bravely at Albany 27/03 and can take some catching, while the likes of HIGH TEA and DEMONS ‘N’ DUST are both good enough to impact in a race of this nature.

Tips: 4-11-1-9
Suggested: 4. OUR GIRL MARLI each way.

4. OUR GIRL MARLI
11. QUEST TO VENUS
1. HIGH TEA
9. DEMONS ‘N’ DUST

Race 6 – 3:20PM RANGEVIEW STUD HANDICAP (1410 METRES)

BOOTLEG RASCAL was placed to advantage at Albany last start and got the job done, clocking some sharp late sectionals in the process. With an in-form Kyra Yuill on board, this fellow should enjoy another economical run in transit and be put into the race at the right time. Should prove hard to hold out. Possible leader BURNING MAGIC was hard in the market in a better race at Pinjarra last start. Looks set to go close in this. CHENERY RED should be getting close to finding form at this stage of his prep, while GOOD FORTUNE and SHOUHOU should both be running on with strength late.

Tips: 1-7-6-12
Suggested: 1. BOOTLEG RASCAL win.

1. BOOTLEG RASCAL
7. BURNING MAGIC
6. CHENERY RED
12. SHOUHOU

Race 7 – 3:55PM SKY RACING.TV PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIP HEAT (1208 METRES)

Deep heat of the Provincial Champs Series and no surprise to see GIFTED WARRIOR run a bold race first up. Always promised plenty, but hasn’t quite lived up to expectations, but he really caught the eye in his Belmont 31/03 trial and if they are making ground on the day, then this fellow can launch into the finish late. FA’LION MASCHINE was a bit stiff in a heat of this series last month and really should’ve finished at least a length closer. Maps well, major player. BEE QUICK is in form and should be running on, while on-pacers HE’S A GUNSLINGER and PINK ‘N’ GRAY will have plenty of admirers.

Tips: 2-8-4-7
Suggested: 2. FA’LION MASCHINE each way.

2. FA’LION MASCHINE
8. BEE QUICK
4. HE’S A GUNSLINGER
7. PINK ‘N’ GRAY

Race 8 – 4:30PM JCW ELECTRICAL HANDICAP (1208 METRES)

Looks a decent opportunity for REACTION. Has been quite competitive again this campaign and his last-start fourth in a much harder race than this at Ascot 1/04 was really solid. Maps rails in run and if Jason Whiting can get him out into the clear late, Reaction should be thereabouts. First-upper AMILLIONITE rarely runs a bad race and has been sharpened up for this with two lead-up barrier trials. Expected to take some beating fresh. This looks the sort of race MASSA MAC could play a part in, while ANGELIQUE’S FAME and LONDON MISS are good enough but have sticky draws to overcome.

Tips: 12-6-9-8
Suggested: 12. REACTION each way.

12. REACTION
6. AMILLIONITE
9. MASSA MAC
8. ANGELIQUE’S FAME
7. LONDON MISS

Race 9 – 5:05PM CIVILCON CONSTRUCTION HANDICAP (1108 METRES)

Siding with CRISTAL DANE in the last of the day. Won here three back and her two runs in town since haven’t been too bad. Looks suited coming back in grade for this assignment and with a nice smother in transit, she can hit the line hard late. MISS MERIT was big at Ascot last start when never on the track. Maps to enjoy a much more comfortable passage in transit and is expected to impact. Have some time for COSTA DEL SANTO and he’s capable of letting rip first up, while speedsters SECRET ASSAULT and STIRLING ESTATE should race on-speed and box on well late.

Tips: 8-2-6-9
Suggested: 8. MISS MERIT win.

8. MISS MERIT
2. COSTA DEL SANTO
6. SECRET ASSAULT
9. STIRLING ESTATE
