Wright and Lane go stride for stride in BTC Trainer’s League

The inaugural Bunbury Turf Club Trainer’s League is turning into a ding-dong battle between Mark Wright and Michael Lane with only five meetings remaining in season 2018/19.

Eligible to trainers registered with the BTC Training Centre — five points are earned for every win, four points for second placings, three points for third placings, and one point for unplaced runners —  Wright (pictured) and Lane have gone head-and-head all season, and it looks set to go down to the wire as they battle it out for the $1500 cash prize.

So far Wright has accumulated 92 points from his 59 runners, with Lane close-up on 91 points from only 35 runners.

The initiative is designed to reward local trainers for their contribution across the entire the BTC racing season and give them something to compete for outside of the Chaff City-Trainer Premiership.

Long time leading south west horseman Lane is only one win behind joint leaders David Harrison, Adam Durrant and Justin Warwick in the Chaff City-Trainer Premiership, and is a genuine chance of claiming both of the BTC Training Awards.
